Man wanted for murder in Columbus arrested in Alabama

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police said a man wanted for murder in connection to a deadly shooting in east Columbus in February has been arrested in Alabama.

Police said Randy Hunter, Jr. was arrested in Birmingham by the U.S. Marshals Service and Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

According to police, Hunter is accused of shooting and killing Lonnie Lambert on Lilley Avenue on Feb. 22.

Police said Hunter is also accused of shooting and injuring Nichelle Lillard.

According to police, a dispute started inside a home and spilled out into the street between a man and a woman.

Police said the fight moved into a yard across the street where shots were fired.

Police said Hunter is awaiting extradition to Ohio.
