DELAWARE, Ohio - A Columbus chiropractor found guilty of downloading and possessing child pornography by a Delaware County jury was sentenced to four years in jail on Wednesday.
Dr. David Ryan, who owns a chiropractor business on Cleveland Avenue in north Columbus, was found guilty in November on 80 counts of child pornography -- mostly involving victims 10 years of age or younger.
Ryan's attorney has said his client "vigorously denies" the accusations. The defense argued Ryan's neighbor, who is a registered sex offender, snuck into Ryan's home and used the doctor's computer.
Dr. Ryan has no criminal history, but he does have a reputation of engaging in community service. Ryan helped develop the medical team for the Arnold Sports Festival. Event organizers told 10TV Ryan resigned from his position as co-chair of that team in 2012, but continued to volunteer off and on.
Investigators said they found no evidence to suggest Ryan treated children at the Columbus Chiropractic Center.
