The theme of the Exxxotica Expo is obvious by the name.
Exxxotica focuses on the adult entertainment industry and everything that comes with it. But there's one booth inside that grabs a lot of eyes for a different reason.
"Whether you're buying porn, or buying food, you're just a person," Carl Thomas from XXX Church said.
The non-profit organization says few people expect to see a church in the middle of an adult convention. And they say that's what makes their message even more powerful.
In Columbus, and other cities across the nation, XXX Church uses conventions to pass out information on their cause.
The group hands out t-shirts with the message, “Jesus Loves Porn Stars,” stickers, social media invitations, and customized "bibles." Those books are full of resources for anyone who might be battling a porn or sex addiction. They also include scripture readings showing how God loves all.
Church members at the Columbus Exxxotica Convention say they do not judge anyone asking for help.
It’s been the mission of the church since 2002, when they attended their first convention. Instead of standing outside and protesting, the team went inside and onto the floor to make a personal connection and expand their reach.
Members want to make 100-million people aware of their mission and resources. To date, they've connected with over 50-million.
