Bonds were set Thursday for two people allegedly involved in a drug deal that turned deadly on Tuesday.

A judge set bonds for 19-year-old Mia V. Shamis and 21-year-old Connor C. Jefferies.  They are accused in the murders of 20-year-old Gary Ashton Francis and James Miller Jr., 21, in a parking lot behind Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Tussing Road on Tuesday.

Jefferies’ bond was set at $1.225 million, while Shamis was given a $1 million bond.  Both have been charged with two counts of murder.

Court records show Jefferies was the alleged triggerman in the slayings over a drug deal.

Police said Shamis and Jefferies met Francis and Miller in a parking lot behind Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  There was a brief conversation that ended with Francis and Miller Jr. shot.

Officers and medics found Francis still inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller Jr. was found near the rear garage of Enterprise and was taken to Grant Medical Center. He died shortly after 3 p.m.
