Columbus Man Responsible For Trafficking 100,000 Oxycodone Pills Sentenced To 37 Years

The leader of a large drug trafficking operation that included at least 46 other people was sentenced Wednesday.

Ruben Rhodes was sentenced to 37 years behind bars on 18 counts of aggravated funding, trafficking in oxycodone and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the 39-year-old man was identified as the leader of the organization.

The organization was found responsible for releasing more than 100,000 oxycodone and other prescription pills worth more than $2.3 million to the streets of Columbus.

The information was discovered after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit and Columbus Division of Police began targeting people who were traveling from Ohio to Florida to pick up prescription pills from pain clinics.

Rhodes was found guilty in August and was sentenced on Wednesday.
