Pete Scalia

Anchor

Pete Scalia is excited to join the 10TV news team as co-anchor of 10TV This Morning. A Cincinnati native and proud graduate of Ohio University, Pete worked behind the scenes at numerous television stations and production facilities in his hometown while also working as on-camera and voice-over talent for a variety of corporate and commercial clients.

Pete stepped away from broadcasting for a few years to tour as a professional musician – opening for classic rockers Ted Nugent and Bad Company, and playing keyboards for a Cincinnati-based funk band produced by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bootsy Collins. He still sings and plays keyboards with his dad in their band Snidely Whiplash.

Before moving to Central Ohio in 2011 to anchor morning news, Pete was morning anchor for WKEF-TV and WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to that, he was morning traffic reporter and evening spot news/helicopter reporter for WLWT-TV in Cincinnati.

Diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis at age 30, and having undergone several joint replacement surgeries, Pete has been very open about the challenges of living with RA and is actively involved with the Arthritis Foundation here in Central Ohio. Given his profession, he considers it a “responsibility” to educate people about the disease and inspire others to “never give up!” Be sure to look for him at local Arthritis Foundation events, including the annual Walk to Cure Arthritis, Jingle Bell Run and Classic Auto Show and Cruise-In.

Pete, his wife Amy, and their two daughters – Lola and Sofia – are proud to call Central Ohio home. He looks forward to helping you start your day by sharing the stories that matter most to you (and having a little fun!)
