COLUMBUS -- According to documents obtained by 10TV, the Ohio State University football team self-reported several recruiting violations to the NCAA.

On Sept. 9, a recruit was taken onto the College GameDay set the week of the game against Oklahoma by a recruiting coach.

While on the set, the recruit met with ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, a former OSU quarterback, and later former OSU running back Eddie George.

The recruit then met with other members of the media on the set and had his picture taken with them, which is when the violation took place. According to the documents, there is no violation in meeting members of the media that formerly were associated with the team. However, meeting with their colleagues is a violation.

OSU said it has stopped recruiting the prospect, suspended the recruiting coach and reprimanded him.

Education also will be provided to the College GameDay producers and media analysts during future broadcasts that involve the institution.
