New technology used at the polls in Ohio

Voters saw something new this year when they first entered their polling location: signing in is now being done electronically.

Voters hand over their ID, it’s scanned and they sign an iPad, instead of poll workers having to flip through a stack of papers and find their name.

This is the first election where this is happening at every location in Franklin County.

“This is supposed to help speed up the process of getting people to their ballots, it also is more accurate,” said Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.

Husted said none of the voting equipment is connected to the internet so there is not an issue with cybersecurity.
