VIDEO: Rascal Flatts Takes The Maria’s Message Pledge

One of the most successful country bands today has taken Maria’s Message.  Columbus’ own Rascal Flatts took the pledge to help end distracted driving.  Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney all took the pledge to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

In September 2013, the daughter of 10TV sports anchor Dom Tiberi was killed in an automobile accident.  Maria Tiberi’s cause of death was determined to be an “unknown distraction.”  Since her untimely death, Dom Tiberi and WBNS-10TV have made it their mission to bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving and educate both teens and adults on safe driving.

Dom has spoken at more than a dozen central Ohio high schools to educate students on distracted driving.  In doing so, tens of thousands of students have signed Maria’s Pledge put an end to distracted driving.  He has also tirelessly worked to bring distracted driving simulators to several area high schools.  The simulators give teens a first-hand experience of the real dangers of distracted driving.

Rascal Flatts formed in Columbus in 1999.  The trio’s Riot Tour will pass through for the Buckeye Country Superfest on June 20th.

Take the Maria’s Message Pledge:
I pledge to: keep my hands on the wheel, keep my eyes on the road, keep my mind on my driving.
If I keep my hands, eyes, and mind where they should be, I can keep myself safe and keep Maria’s Message alive.
