7-year-old girl reported missing from Hardin County found alive in vacant house

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office said Trinity Hurt was found thanks to a tip given to a school resource officer.

KENTON, Ohio — A 7-year-old girl who was reported missing in Hardin County was found alive Friday night.

The City of Kenton said Trinity Hurt was found thanks to a tip given to a school resource officer.

The Crime Task Force investigated the tip, which led them to a vacant house on Township Road 180, where the girl was found.

Previously, Hurt was reported missing Thursday morning after being last seen Wednesday night at her home on the 600 block of South Leighton Street on Wednesday.

Friday afternoon, the sheriff's office announced Charles Castle was arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection to Hurt's disappearance.

"The outcome is the result of the help from the public and the relentless effort of the law enforcement as a whole," said Kenton Police Chief Dennis Musser in a release.
