Zanesville man charged with killing grandmother, dumping her body in Franklin County


A 26-year-old man has officially been charged in his grandmother's murder.

Sixty-four-year-old Elizabeth Alvarez's body was found in Franklin County last month.

John Jenkins and his girlfriend, Rachel Sipple, were arrested and accused of robbing a convenience store in Columbus.

Jenkins is now charged with aggravated murder. He and Sipple are both charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

They are currently jailed in Franklin County and will be taken to Muskingum County to face those charges.

Alvarez, Jenkins and Sipple lived in Zanesville, which is where the alleged murder happened.
