Zanesville City Schools employee charged with sexual battery of a student

An employee with Zanesville City Schools has been charged with two counts of sexual battery.

According to the Zanesville Police Department, they received information from a school resource officer that he had obtained information alleging misconduct by an employee involving a juvenile student.

An investigation led to charges being filed against 34-year-old Michael S. Law.

Law is being held at the Zanesville City Jail on $100,000 bond.

According to Zanesville City Schools, Law is a classroom aide and worked as a coach with teh football and track teams in the district. He is currently on unpaid leave.

Zanesville City Schools sent the following statement:

"The Zanesville City Schools District received a report of allegations against a staff member yesterday morning and immediately removed the staff member from the District's premises. The District is following all laws and Board policies and will fully cooperate with law enforcement while this matter is investigated."
