Woman who died in south Columbus fire identified


COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person has died following a fire in south Columbus.

It happened in the 4000 block of Clabber Road just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Battalion Chief Steve Martin with the Columbus Division of Fire said a woman, identified as 58-year-old Shirley J. Nelson, was pronounced dead at 2:23 p.m.

Martin says a dog was also taken to a veterinary medical center in an unknown condition.

Authorities say the fire has been contained at this time.
