Woman alleges peanut allergy to blame for high speed chase through Westerville

A driver accelerated to dangerous speeds through downtown Westerville Sunday morning.

Police said after the car’s tires were flattened by stop sticks, the woman behind the wheel exited the vehicle an ran from officers.

When she was finally captured, police say she told them a peanut cookie was to blame for her erratic driving.

30-year-old Corneatia Hill can be heard in the video telling officers she had an allergic reaction to peanuts. Officers say there was no sign of any reaction.

Hill is now in the Franklin County jail. Officers said she was traveling faster than 90 miles-per-hour through downtown streets around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Hill now faces several charges including felony eluding, possession and traffic counts.
