Woman charged with murder after east Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A woman is charged with murder after a man was shot in east Columbus, according to police.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of Carlton Avenue around 1:40 a.m. Thursday on a call for an unknown complaint.

Police said a woman was outside when officers responded and a man was found shot inside.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police later identified the man as 54-year-old Roger Prophet.

Creshella Jarju, 42, is charged "for causing the death of the victim", police said.

This is the 29th homicide in Columbus in 2020.
