This started after brad learned Grandma Joy, as she's called, was looking for some excitement.

“She said she really regretted not seeing more of the great outdoors in her life. She'd never seen the mountains, and for someone who spends all of his vacations in the mountains, I thought that was unnecessarily tragic and I could do something about that,” Brad told 10TV.

“We started out just to do the national parks. We decided to do as many as we could before I kick the bucket, and we're still going,” Joy said.

Brad and Joy have received messages from people all over the world inspired by their journey.
