COLUMBUS - Drivers around Columbus will face closures in the areas of the West Outerbelt, as well as the East Side Split this weekend, but the temporary roadblocks pave the way for final steps in major projects, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

What drivers need to know:

By Monday morning, drivers will once again have two thru lanes for I-70 west at the I-71 East Split.

In order to shift the lanes and remove overhead signs, I-70 westbound will close at Miller/Kelton from 7 PM Sunday until 5 AM Monday. Traffic will still be able to access the ramp to I-71 NB to I-670 WB to SR 315 SB. The downtown (Mound St) ramp will also be maintained.

Four lanes of I-270 north are already open between Roberts Road and US 33. ODOT expects to open all lanes by the end of the year, weather permitting.
