COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Division of Police closed North 4th Street at East Maynard Avenue due to a water main break.

City officials say water crews are investigating a water leak in the area.

Officers closed North 4th Street between Hudson and east Maynard avenue while crews worked to repair the leak.

The Columbus Division of Water spokesman says crews are working to repair a 24-inch water line. During the repairs, North 4th Street will remain closed throughout the day.

As a result of the break, the Department of Public Utilities issued a boil water advisory for approximately 65 properties in the area.

Per Department policy, door hangers were placed on the front doors of affected properties. Residents are encouraged to boil water used for cooking and drinking for one minute. Residents will be notified in a similar fashion when the advisory is lifted.

North Fourth Street between East Maynard Avenue and East Tompkins Street is closed to allow crews safe access the site.
