FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — U.S. 23 northbound is back open in southern Franklin County after an oxygen tanker truck caught fire Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says the closure was just south of I-270, in the area of S.R. 665.

The Columbus Division of Fire said there was an increase of pressure inside the tanker and that fire crews are in an observation mode as the pressure releases.

Another tanker has been called in to offload the contents of the one that caught fire.

No injuries have been reported at this time, the fire department says.

Both sides of the highway were initially closed following the crash. The southbound lanes have since been reopened.
