Upcoming closure set to mix things up near New Albany

COLUMBUS – Drivers on the already congested Dublin-Granville Road may have noticed crews working along the roadside, but in just days restrictions could make things trickier.

A project to reconstruct the intersection of Old Hamilton Road and East Dublin-Granville Road requires a closure of the eastbound lanes of Dublin-Granville Road at Ulry Road, beginning Monday, April 22.

Posted signage will detour eastbound traffic to Ulry Road, then east on Warner Road and then back down Hamilton Road.

Eastbound traffic on Dublin-Granville Road will still have access to the apartments and condos on the south side of the street.

Eastbound traffic on Dublin-Granville Road will not be able to access the driveway to LA Fitness and Average Joe’s.

Traffic will only be able to access the parking lot by going westbound on Dublin-Granville to turn left into the driveway on Dublin-Granville, or by going southbound on Old Hamilton Road to turn right into the driveway on Old Hamilton.

Drivers will be able to leave the LA Fitness parking lot via the driveway on Old Hamilton Road to go south.

Westbound Dublin-Granville Road traffic will also be maintained throughout the project.

Weather permitting, construction is expected to wrap up July 1.

During the first phase of the closure, work will occur on the north side of Dublin-Granville Road and westbound traffic will travel on the south side of the road.

When work is done on the north side, westbound traffic will push to that side of the road and construction will be completed on the south half.
