Upper Arlington High School is full of ideas and they hope those ideas will spread all over Central Ohio.

The inaugural UA Idea Day is modeled after a week-long festival in Chicago, to inspire and expand creative thinking.

Alice Finley from the Upper Arlington Education Foundation was inspired after attending the Chicago event. She shared it with students and a handful of them took off with the idea.

They planned a day of panel discussions and interactive workshops.

“Challenge their everyday thinking and push themselves to be creative,” said Finley. “And to hear stories from other people that have maybe experienced some detours and some challenges and have overcome.”

All students and teachers took part in Idea Day. Other district leaders were invited in hopes the event will get larger. Organizers hope it expands past students to a community program.
