Tornado sirens sound in Fairfield County; no severe weather threat

Fairfield County residents got an early morning wake up call Sunday when tornado sirens across the county started firing off warning sounds.

It started around 8:30 and is unclear how long it lasted.

The Fairfield County Emergency Management Agency posted this statement on their Facebook Page:

Fairfield County officials say a human error led to the sirens going off.

This is not the first time a central Ohio community had issues with siren activation.

In February, hundreds of Newark residents were awakened by tornado sirens with no severe weather threat, causing a number of tornado sirens to be repaired.
