Hamilton Local Schools were placed on lockdown after a student reported receiving a threat from another student. The lockdown has since been lifted.

In a post on the district's website, officials say a student received the threat from someone in another district.

The district says law enforcement has a suspect is in custody and all students are safe.

The Thursday morning threat led the schools to initiate lockdown procedures at all district buildings.

The district says due to the timing of the lockdown and staffing limitations, Hamilton Elementary will remain closed Thursday and morning classes for Hamilton Preschool are also canceled.
