Thousands without power in south Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thousands of AEP Ohio customers in south Columbus are without power Friday night.

According to the AEP outage website, approximately 7,800 customers are experiencing a power outage that started around 6:15 p.m.

AEP said crews are working to make needed repairs as quickly as possible following an equipment failure.

An AEP spokesperson said crews are going to re-route the power and they expect the power to be back on by 9 p.m.
