Thick fog likely contributed to crash that damaged Franklin Co. sheriff’s cruiser


FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio - One lane of southbound Interstate 71 is closed in southern Franklin County after a crash involving a deputy's cruiser.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office tells 10TV a deputy was assisting a disabled semi-truck on the interstate. Another vehicle traveling south did not see the flashing lights and hit a tow truck, the disabled semi, and the deputy's cruiser.

No one was injured.

The cruiser has significant damage.

Authorities have opened one lane of the highway, but expect to be in the area for some time.

The sheriff’s office believes thick fog likely played a role in this crash.
