Refreezing a concern before another small round of snow arrives Thursday

More snow is expected to move into the area by Thursday afternoon.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Heavy, wet snow blanketed much of central Ohio on Wednesday, but we're already tracking another batch of snow for Thursday.

Most counties are no longer under a snow emergency as much of the snow was either plowed off the roads or washed away by the rain. You can view the remaining snow emergencies here

IMPACTS

There is a chance all the lingering slush could turn into ice overnight, especially on lightly traveled roads in central Ohio.

Another half inch to inch of snow is expected to fall, especially on the southeast side of Columbus on Thursday. It will also be windier and colder, with some heavier bursts of snow putting down a quick coating and reducing visability. For the most part, there will not be much accumulation.

Crews with the Ohio Department of Transportation will remain on duty, plowing and salting roads throughout the night as needed. ODOT says the crews will work 12-hour shifts until Friday to keep roads safe.
