Suspect arrested for murder of woman found in garage in southeast Columbus area

Columbus police have made a arrest after a victim was pronounced dead by responders in the southeast Columbus area.

Police say they received a call from someone who reported finding an unresponsive woman in a garage in the 900 block of Seymour Avenue shortly before 10 a.m. Feb. 24.

The woman, identified as 47-year-old Tonya L. Daniels, was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. According to an affidavit, Daniels' death was the result of blunt force trauma to the head.

The affidavit also says 48-year-old Troy Hairston turned himself in to authorities Thursday and has been charged with murder.
