South side work to close several ramps Tuesday night

COLUMBUS - Construction on the south end of Columbus will impact drivers Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

Weather permitting, crews will be working on beam installation at I-270 and I-71 on the south side.

What you need to know:

  • 9 PM TUESDAY: I-270 east will be reduced to one lane and the following ramps will close:
    • I-270 east to I-71 north
      Detour: I-270 east to I-71 south to Stringtown Road to I-71 north
    • I-71 north to I-270 west
      Detour: I-71 north to Frank Road west to I-71 south to I-270 west
    • I-270 west to I-71 south
      Detour: I-270 west to US 62 to I-270 east to I-71 south
  • 10 PM TUESDAY: All lanes of I-270 east will be closed at I-71. The detour is I-270 east to I-71 south to Stringtown Road to I-71 north to I-270 east.
  • 5 AM WEDNESDAY: All lanes and ramps open
