South Gallia High School teacher on leave for inappropriate relationship with student


A South Gallia High School teacher has been accused of a being in an inappropriate relationship with a student; and placed on leave by his district.

The teacher, Morgan D. Halley, and has been placed on administrative leave since the morning of January 12, 2018, according to Superintendent Jude Meyers.

In the complaint, Halley is accused of having a sexual encounter with one of his students at his home located in Gallia County.

The complaint was filed with the court on Jan. 15, and he was arraigned the following day, given a $15,000 bond.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Jan. 22, 2018
