Sheriff: $400,000 worth of heroin found in car next to children near Easton

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio— The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office announced they arrested two people for heroin possession near Easton back on September 27.

An investigation began earlier in September into the distribution of heroin in the county.

The investigation led to the arrest of 30-year-old Benjamin Marentes-Rincon and 24-year-old Emily Thomas

Detectives seized 2,150 grams of heroin from the floorboard of a car next to two children in the backseat.

The street value of the heroin is said to be around $400,000.

Rincon has both been deported on two occasions and is in the United States illegally.

They face possession charges and trafficking charges are expected.
