Former Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer is nearing a deal to be a college football analyst with Fox Sports, according to the Sporting News.

The outlet said Fox Sports declined to comment.

Meyer retired at the end of this season after leading the Buckeyes for seven years, ending with a win in the Rose Bowl over Washington.

Leading up to his final game, it was announced Meyer would be an assistant athletic director at Ohio State as well as teach a course in character and leadership at the university.

After stepping down as the head coach at Florida, Meyer spent the 2011 season working as a college football analyst for ESPN.
