Three people from California have been indicted after authorities said they seized enough fentanyl that could kill all the residents in Columbus.

Joel Parker Lassiter, Luis Gerado Delgado and Rashaad Talib Williams have been indicted on aggravated trafficking and aggravated possession of drugs charges.

They were arrested by officers with the HIDTA Task Force in a hotel parking lot on Olentangy River Road on October 25 after 4.5 pounds (2 kilos) of fentanyl was found in the trunk of their car.

Two to three milligrams of fentanyl is a fatal dose. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said the 4.5 pounds is enough to kill all the residents of Columbus.

All three face a maximum sentence of 22 years. They are being held on $250,000 bonds and will be arraigned next week.
