A Columbus State Community College professor was fired on Wednesday after a student accused him of asking her on a date.

Mike A. Crider began teaching as an adjunct math professor at the community college in 2004, 10TV News reported.

The student filed a complaint against Crider last week.

The college conducted an investigation into the complaints and said their findings "didn't live up to the standards set at CSCC," 10TV News reported.

Crider, a former high school teacher, lost his teaching license in 2002 after pleading guilty to inappropriately touching a 15-year-old who was babysitting at his home.
