Police searching for suspected thief in Columbus area

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Police want to find a man they believe is responsible for multiple locker room thefts in central Ohio.

Police said the suspect stole credit cards from a member's wallet at Mesh Fitness on Riverside Drive on January 3.

Investigators said he then used those credit cards at the Walmart on Bethel Road and the Target on Sawmill Road.

Police said his charges totaled around $1,000.

In both incidents, police said the suspect pretended to be on a phone call and stood in the men's locker room tampering with lockers.

The same suspect is also accused of thefts in Grove City on Jan. 6.

Police said he has been seen driving a gold Buick Lacrosse.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thinner build.

Police said he is about 6-feet tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
