Police searching for man using fake info to obtain phones

Columbus, Ohio - Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly used fake info to purchase cell phones in Upper Arlington.

On July 22, an unidentified man entered the Verizon Wireless store in Upper Arlington. He presented fraudulent information under the name "Clifford Smith" in order to obtain two iPhone XS phones, which value of nearly $2,000.

The suspect then went to another Verizon Wireless store on N. High Street in Columbus to try to obtain the same phones using the same information. However, employees stopped the fraud and the suspect left. The man seen entering the stores has been on security footage.
