Police identify pedestrian struck, killed in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in east Columbus on Monday.

The incident happened at the intersection of Morse Road and Sunbury Road around 10:20 p.m.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling westbound on Morse Road through the Sunbury Road intersection.

At that time, police said 69-year-old Alfred Moore Jr. was walking northbound across Morse Road and entered the path of the vehicle and was struck.

Moore was transported to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said that the driver remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
