Police identify man shot and killed in east Columbus


COLUMBUS - Police have identified the man shot and killed in east Columbus early Friday morning.

Columbus Police found Kelvin Lee Porter, 54, in a driveway in the 500 block of South Napoleon Avenue near Fair Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

Porter was taken to Grant Medical Center in life-threatening condition where he later died.

Police believe the motive for the shooting was robbery.

A person of interest has been identified but no arrests have been made, according to police.

This is the 8th homicide in Columbus this year.
