Police identify man killed after shooting in east Columbus

COLUMBUS -- Columbus Police have identified the man killed after a shooting in east Columbus Sunday night.

Police said the call came in around 9:50 p.m. in the 900 block of Rarig Avenue.

Responding officers say they located 46-year-old Brent Delaine Carr on the sidewalk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Carr was taken to Grant Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 10:13 p.m., according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Carr may be the victim of a robbery. There are no known suspects at this time, according to police.

Columbus Police say this is the city's 28th homicide in 2018.
