Police charge student accused of making up threat against Hilliard Darby High School

HILLIARD, Ohio – Hilliard police have charged a 16-year-old Hilliard Darby High School student who is accused of making up a threat against the school.

Police said the student fabricated the threat, posted it online and sent it to other students.

The student is facing a charge of inducing panic which is a second-degree felony.

“We cannot emphasize enough for parents to talk with your children about the zero-tolerance stance our agency and school district have regarding not only threats but making up or forwarding rumors. Tell your children that any information on potential threats should be taken seriously and turned over to the police immediately,” police said in a statement.
