Authorities in Rice County, Minnesota said they believe they have found the body of a missing Columbus woman.

Chelsea E. Martinez, 26, was reported missing from Columbus on July 30.

A Rice County Sheriff’s Deputy found an abandoned vehicle at Shagger Park on Cannon Lake August 3.

The deputy discovered the 1993 Toyota vehicle was registered to Martinez.

Deputies and State Troopers checked the area for Martinez but were unable to find anything that evening.

Investigators say they were given information by Martinez’s family that led them to question 39-year-old Jason Robert Nisbit of Fairbault, Minn.

According to the Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Nisbit then led investigators to a body Friday.

The body was found in a wooded area in Warsaw Township across from the park where Martinez’s vehicle was found.

Officials said they believe the body is Martinez pending official identification.

Nisbit has been jailed on suspicion of 2nd Degree Homicide. He will be formally charged Monday in court.
