Police: 2 Shot In Parking Lot Of West Side Mormon Temple


Columbus police responded to a shooting with two victims Tuesday afternoon before 5 p.m.

According to police, the shooting took place in the parking lot of the Columbus Ohio Temple, a Mormon temple, on Gateway Blvd. in west Columbus.

Officials said the shooting had nothing to do with the temple.

Police told 10TV a man, identified as Neng Sith, was meeting with a woman, Soth Sin, in the parking lot when her husband, Sokkha Chant, arrived, according to police.

Officers said Sith fled. Police then say an altercation took place between Sin and Chant when shots were fired.

Police said that the Sin, as well as Chant, were transported to the hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds.

No charges were immediately filed, but the investigation was ongoing.
