Police: 1 dead, 1 in critical condition after south Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police say a man is dead and another injured following a shooting in south Columbus Tuesday night.

Columbus police said the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in the area of East Kossuth Street and Lockbourne Road.

According to police, the men were involved in an altercation outside a home and both were shot.

The victims were then taken to Grant Medical Center where 27-year-old Mark Hardy was pronounced dead by doctors. The second shooting victim, a 31-year-old man, remains in critical contrition, according to police.

Investigators believe drugs were a factor in prompting the altercation and they have no suspects at this time.
