Polaris Macy’s hosting sensory-friendly, back-to-school shopping event

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Amid Ohio’s tax-free weekend, the Macy’s at Polaris Fashion Place will be hosting a sensory-friendly event for back-to-school shoppers.

The event welcomes families with children on the autism spectrum to shop for the upcoming school year in an environment with low lighting, no music and trained staff from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The event is during Ohio’s back-to-school tax-free weekend and begins Saturday, Aug. 3, from 7 – 10 a.m. and continues Sunday, Aug. 4, from 7 – 10 a.m.

Guests will also be provided with goodie bags, activities, giveaways and more. The event is hosted by Macy’s and is in partnership with Big Lots Behavioral Health Services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
