Pedestrian Struck By Alleged Distracted Driver

A man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car on an east Columbus sidewalk.

This happened around 1:45 Friday morning at Main Street and Miller Avenue.

The driver told police he was distracted by his GPS and took his eyes off the road.

He drove onto the sidewalk and hit a tree before hitting the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was expected to be ok.

No charges have been filed yet, but the driver could be cited for failure to control.
