Columbus Police say a drum major coach for the Ohio State University Marching Band has been arrested on rape and kidnapping charges.

According to police, Stewart Kitchen, 28, is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault which occurred April 15th.

Court documents indicate Kitchen allegedly invited a woman to have drinks, then attacked her at his home in the University District

Investigators say the alleged victim asked Kitchen to take her home several times, but he refused, allegedly forcing the woman into his bedroom.

The Columbus Dispatch reports OSU has been placed Kitchen on administrative leave and is launching an internal investigation.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says because Kitchen turned himself in within an hour after learning about a warrant for his arrest, he felt a $50,000 bond was appropriate.   Had this not been the case, O’Brien said the bond would have been considered low.
