Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer said he will be signing a contract extension soon.

During his signing day press conference, Meyer was asked how long he plans to stay with the Buckeyes.

“We're going to sign an extension here soon because the university has been good enough to extend something to me,” he said.

Meyer’s current contract runs through the 2020 season. With an extension, he would be around through 2022.

Athletic director Gene Smith said he made the proposal for the extension and it was approved by President Dr. Michael Drake. He added the board of trustees will vote on the extension in April.
