Ohio State issues safety notice after driver off-campus tries to lure student into vehicle

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has issued a safety notice following an off-campus incident where a male driver was reportedly attempting to lure a female student into a car.

The Ohio State University's Department of Public Safety said at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday, a female Ohio State student was walking in the area of Indianola Avenue and E. 15th Avenue when a car pulled up beside her.

The department said an unknown male driver told her to get into the vehicle. The student told the driver no and continued walking before the driver pulled away and drove north.

The vehicle is described as a white, medium-sized car. On the windshield of the car was a white piece of paper with "Uber" written on it.

The driver is described as a black male in his 30s, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds with long dreadlocks.
