Ohio government websites hacked with anti-Trump, pro-ISIS message


COLUMBUS – There are a number of Ohio Government websites hacked as of Sunday afternoon.

According to Ohio's Treasurer, Josh Mandel posted this on his Facebook page:

The websites that appear to be hacked by the same group include The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation Corrections, Ohio First Lady’s Office, and the Office of Workforce Transformation.

The website states, “You will be held accountable Trump, you and all your people for every drop of blood flowing in Muslim countries."

The chief communications officer with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Tom Hoyt, said, "State IT staff are working to restore the computer systems that were impacted today. All affected servers have been taken off line and we are investigating how these hackers were able to deface these websites. We are also working with law enforcement to better understand what happened.”

Hoyt told 10TV ten sites were hacked and the DAS confirmed that information about Ohio citizens and state employees has not been compromised.

The websites hacked with the message include Kasich's, first lady Karen Kasich's, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Office of Workforce Transformation, the Casino Control Commission, Medicaid, the Office of Health Transformation, LeanOhio, the Office of Inspector General, and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety says it is working with the FBI and others to investigate the hack.
