Ohio is full of extremes when it comes to weather

They say if you don't like the weather in Ohio, wait five minutes because it'll change. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but there's some truth in that hyperbole.

Just think back to March 5. The area started out the day at 7 degrees but wind chill values were 7 below. Afternoon highs struggled to get out of the teens and some of us didn't even do that.

To add insult to injury, most of us spent the afternoon dealing with wind chills in the single digits and we got light snow throughout the day. This all came just after seeing sunshine and highs in the 50s nearly a week earlier! I remember that day and I, like many others, was longing for summer.

Well, summer is here! We're enjoying the pool, cooking out and dressing much lighter. It's pretty nice. Actually, it's really, really hot! We've already seen our first heat wave of the season and we've had heat index values well into the 90s at times.

It's amazing how much the weather can change in just a few months in central Ohio. And if you're getting sick of the hot weather, don't worry. In just a few months, we'll all be complaining about how cold it is.
