North Columbus fire destroys home, woman crawls to safety


COLUMBUS - Emergency responders took one woman to the hospital following a fire at her home in north Columbus.

It happened around 3:30 Saturday morning in the 1000 block of East 26th Avenue.

Officials say the woman, who has a prosthetic leg, was able to crawl to safety. She was treated for smoke inhalation.

Authorities told 10TV she is expected to recover. The home is considered a total loss.
